Sharifa Rhodes-Pitts is the author of the critically-acclaimed Harlem Is Nowhere: A Journey to the Mecca of Black America. It was named among 100 Notable Books of 2011 by The New York Times Book Review and nominated for a National Book Critics Circle Award. She is working on a trilogy about African-Americans and utopia and recently launched BLACKNUSS: books and other relics, a new bookstore coming to Harlem.
