Frances Beinecke is the President of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), a leading nonprofit group that takes on environmental issues from the safety of our air and water to the health of our families and the future of our climate.
In 2010, Ms. Beinecke was appointed by President Obama to the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and Offshore Drilling. She joined Secretary of Energy Chu’s Energy Advisory Board and currently serves on the Advisory Board of the MIT Energy Initiative. She also serves on the boards of the World Resources Institute and the Energy Future Coalition.
Ms. Beinecke received a master’s degree from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. She participated in the Leadership Council of Yale School of Forestry, the Yale School of Management’s Advisory Board and a former member of the Yale Corporation.
